WILLIAM SHATNER’S GONZO BALLET
An award-winning documentary about an unusual ballet set to the music of Shatner’s critically acclaimed album Has Been (produced and co-written by Ben Folds).  Featuring William Shatner, Ben Folds, Henry Rollins, and famed choreographer Margo Sappington.  Executive Produced by William Shatner.  Distributed by Epix Pictures (Paramount Pictures/Lionsgate/MGM).  Now available on Netflix.

Directed by Frankie Latina, Modus Operandi is an independent exploitation-style feature film starring Randy Russell, American Movie‘s Mark Borchardt, Reservoir Dogs‘ Michael Sottile, and screen legend Danny Trejo.  The film has screened at the American Film Institute, CineVegas, and the IFC. Brownmark Films is the name of our Samwell (What What In the Butt) channel on YouTube.com.  The channel, which started as an experiment in viral communications, has over 50 million downloads and counting.

SHAKY ADVICE FROM NEIL HAMBURGER
An iPhone App based on the classic Magic 8 Ball toy with 30 hilarious video advice clips from Neil Hamburger, “America’s Funnyman”!  The App has a Five-Star rating in the Apple App store. 

WHAT WHAT ABOUT L.A. 
We installed a video projector in a cargo van and drove around Los Angeles after dark projecting the pink blimp from our What What (In the Butt) piece onto various art galleries, museums, and other culturally significant spaces. Documentation of the project premiered the next night at the Machine Project gallery in Los Angeles.

THE FOUND FOOTAGE SHOW
A 36-episode web series hosted by Joe Pickett & Nick Prueher of The Found Footage Festival, who present hilarious clips from VHS tapes they’ve found from garage sales, thrift stores, and dumpsters.  The show aired every Tuesday and Thursday on The Onion’s A.V. Club website.

SSomething TheaterOMETHING THEATER
A half hour television show which has been airing in Southeastern Wisconsin on the CW channel since February of 2009.  It is broadcast from Milwaukee on a quarterly basis, usually on a Friday night.  The series is a co-production between Special Entertainment and artist David Robbins.

THE FOUND FOOTAGE FESTIVAL VOLUME 5 DVD
A collection of odd and hilarious found videos that The Onion A.V. Club calls “Skull-crushingly funny!”  Hosted by Joe Pickett & Nick Prueher, founders of The Found Footage Festival, with a special appearance by Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show, Breaking Bad).

This 60 minute orientation video was commissioned by the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility to orient new prisoners and their families.  The video covers a variety of topics including meals, safety, hygiene, health services, psychiatric services, education services, and many other aspects of prison life.

An online book written by artist David Robbins and produced exclusively for the Internet by Special Entertainment. According to MIT university, Robbins’ High Entertainment concept “combines the critical capacity of fine art with the pleasures and reach of show business”. This was a pilot episode created by artist David Robbins and financed by the Sundance Channel.  The episode, directed by Sarah Price (American Movie, The Yes Men)  and David Robbins, was the winner of the Sundance TV Lab competition.  Special Entertainment provided production and post-production services.

ESTO ES QUE TU QUIERES?
This video by artist Frankie Martin was shot by Special Entertainment, edited by DJ Douggpound (of Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job!), and features music co-produced by Juiceboxxx.  The video has screened in New York, San Francisco, and Norway.

A music video for recording artist Juiceboxxx (Vicious Pop Records), directed by artist Frankie Martin and Bobby Ciraldo and produced by Special Entertainment.

Studying the Lie 4STUDYING THE LIE
A short film created by Special Entertainment and artist David Robbins.  It tells the story of an overly deliberative golfer, seemingly unable to putt his last hole.  This bizarre, comedic short won 1st Place in the 24-Hour Film Competition sponsored by the Milwaukee Art Museum and screened in the Milwaukee International Film Festival.

TABLE TALK
A short film made in collaboration with Drew Rosas and Kelly Hendzel about four people who relate embarrassing personal stories to one another while sitting naked around a table.  This comedic short won 1st Place in the 24-Hour Film Competition sponsored by the Milwaukee Art Museum and screened at the Milwaukee International Film Festival.

Our entry for the Doritos Superbowl contest (titled “New Media Arrives!”) was the 16th most viewed commercial out of over 1,800 entries.
